قال الله تعالى

 {  إِنَّ اللَّــهَ لا يُغَيِّــرُ مَـا بِقَــوْمٍ حَتَّــى يُـغَيِّـــرُوا مَــا بِــأَنْــفُسِــــهِـمْ  }

سورة  الرعد  .  الآيـة   :   11

ahlaa

Blinken to Germany: Stop Nord Stream II!

كتبه
New secretary of state Anthony Blinken visited Europe last week in an apparent effort to strengthen NATO after a period of presumed drift during the Trump years. Among other things he urged Germany to cancel the Nord Stream II pipeline project that will bring cheap natural gas from point A on the Baltic Sea coast (Vyborg, Russia) to point B (Grieswald, Germany). It is a clear instance of free trade between capitalist countries, for mutual advantage. The project costing 10 billion Euros, begun in 2012, is 95% complete. Blinken like his predecessor Mike Pompeo asked Angela Merckel to cancel it…

Jim Jordan Demands DHS Documents After NPR Report

كتبه
Did the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warn the Biden administration that reversing his predecessor’s immigration policies would end in catastrophe? That’s what Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Tom McClintock (R-CA) are trying to find out after an NPR report suggested that border officials both briefed and warned Biden transition officials about the crisis and how upending Trump’s agenda would exacerbate the situation. Migrant Protection Protocols and the Title 42 public health expulsion authority appeared to be working. So what gives? The pair of lawmakers sent the White House an urgent letter demanding some documents. They want to see everything from Oct.…

No, President Biden, We Are Not the Government

كتبه
People who desire the protection of freedom from overreaching government have much to be concerned about in President Joe Biden’s Thursday speech focused on coronavirus and coronavirus-related government actions. Yet, likely the most dangerous to freedom proposition in Biden’s speech is an assertion he made that goes far beyond coronavirus-related matters — that the United States government is the same as “us,” the American people.Biden declared in the speech: Look, we know what we need to do to beat this virus: Tell the truth. Follow the scientists and the science. Work together. Put trust and faith in our government to fulfill its…

Evaluating Programs That Counter Violent Extremism

كتبه
Countries across the world are fighting a growing threat of violent extremism. Many have begun implementing Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) interventions to prevent or divert individuals from radicalizing to violence. Such CVE interventions run the gamut from large-scale government counterterrorism operations to smaller-scale online and counter-messaging campaigns. In measuring intervention impacts, randomized studies are the gold standard in evaluation design, but such rigorous designs have not been used extensively for CVE interventions. The Global Engagement Center at the U.S. Department of State asked RAND to use such trials—as well as innovative methods—to assess the impact of interventions in Nigeria, Indonesia, and the Philippines. How…

Joe Biden’s ambitious reforms

كتبه
President Biden and the Democratic Party have launched very important reforms, not social, but societal in the United States. They have also laid the groundwork for the revival of imperialism. However, it is difficult to say whether all this will be continued or whether it will be abandoned because of the senility of the president. President Biden spent the first month of his term advancing his goal of societal reform and the second month laying the groundwork for his foreign policy. It is not yet clear what the third part of the "100 days" will be, which should focus on…
Jury selection in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin moved closer to completion on Friday with the addition of a new juror, bringing the number of seated members to 13. A demographic breakdown provided by Spenser Bickett, Hennepin County District Court's communication specialist, to Newsweek shows five men and seven women, ranging in age from 20s to 60 were selected to serve on the jury in the Minneapolis trial. Seven jurors self-identified as white, four as Black and two as mixed race. The newest juror is a white woman in her 50s, according to Bickett, and her addition leaves…
The U.S. National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence recently made the news when its members warned that America faces a national security crisis due to insufficient investment in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. Commission Vice Chair Robert Work argued “we don’t feel this is the time for incremental budgets … This will be expensive and requires significant change in the mindset at the national, and agency, and Cabinet levels.” Commission Chair Eric Schmidt extended those worries by saying “China is catching the US” and “competition with China will increase.” This is not the first time the country has worried about the economic…
The Chinese government is using “racial themes” pushed by organizations like Black Lives Matter to undermine America, noted Gordon Chang, expert on China and author of The Coming Collapse of China, on Friday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow, author of Breaking the News: Exposing the Establishment Media’s Hidden Deals and Secret Corruption. Marlow recalled last week’s meeting between American and Chinese officials in Anchorage, Alaska, including Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. China’s officials echoed Democrat and leftist denigration of the U.S. as a “racist” country. Chang explained how Chinese officials and state-run media frame criticisms of China as…
Speaking to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Friday, President Biden suggested that the US and its allies should pursue a massive infrastructure plan to compete with China’s Belt and Road initiative. “We talked about China and the competition they’re engaging in in the Belt and Road Initiative,” Biden told reporters after the call. “And I suggested we should have, essentially, a similar initiative coming from the democratic states.” The Belt and Road initiative is an ambitious project that was launched by Beijing in 2013. It stretches from East Asia to Europe, and most of Washington’s European and NATO allies are involved in…

Biden Meets, and Defeats, the Press

كتبه
The White House press corps recently elevated President Joe Biden’s “delay” in holding a press conference to the level of a scandal. The narrative was that he couldn’t handle the unscripted format—because of dementia, gaffes, other “Uncle Joe” problems, or all of the above. Finally, two whole months into his presidency, he scheduled one. And it was a disaster. For the White House press corps. I admit, I worried about Biden at first. At the outset, he seemed to be reading from notes on the lectern. It was only when the questions began that he came alive. But some of…

No kingmaker – and no king following Israel’s latest election

كتبه
In my last article, written immediately before Tuesday’s Israeli election, I noted that three right-wing rivals of Prime Minister Benjamin (“Bibi”) Netanyahu, having already realized that none of them was likely to become prime minister in this election cycle, were instead desperately trying to be kingmaker. Now, with virtually all of the vote in and results unlikely to change, it is clear: Not only will there be no kingmaker, there will probably be no king. Though parties likely to support Netanyahu do have 63 seats, that count includes a very far-right, Kahanist party (“Religious Zionism”) and an Arab party (Ra’am/United Arab…
